Sunrise Lodge

Guided & Catered Backcountry Lodge Week, Next Door To Rogers Pass.

Sunrise is the OG lodge in the Esplanade Rage, they put it there for a reason.  Join two A.C.M.G. guides and a backcountry chef for a fully catered week of ski touring. Sunrise Lodge is one of the closest tenures to the world-famous Rogers Pass, home to some of the best backcountry touring in the Selkirks — minus the crowds! You can expect lots of alpine and treed lines here, with everything from gentle open slopes to steep pillow lines. The consensus among those who’ve spent time at all four Esplanade Range Huts though is that Sunrise is the best: best terrain, best for storm skiing, and best snowpack of the bunch!

We have booked the most prime week of the season to soak it all in.

The Wapta Traverse

  • Price:

Includes park and hut fees, breakfast and dinner along the traverse

    $1497

The Most Iconic Hut-to-Hut Traverse in Canada.

The Classics Wapta Traverse is a 40-kilometre ski traverse that travels along the continental divide, otherwise known as the B.C. Alberta border. The trip starts at Bow Lake along the Icefields Parkway and goes to Sherbrook Lake outside of Lake Louise, Alberta. It is a Canadian classic that takes between three and five days to complete and combines three huts: The Bow Hut, the Balfour Hut, and the Scott Duncan Hut.

In our version of this trip, we spend two nights at the Balfour hut and take the extra day to explore this hut's spectacular terrain. This also gives us the best chance at good weather for the Balfour High Col.
This makes the trips five days and four nights.

The Wapta Traverse is the ‘Haute Route’ of the Rockies with big peaks, enormous glaciers, and huts! The terrain is mostly moderate and reasonable for intermediate skiers. The vistas are always spectacular (unless the weather rolls in!) Many peaks are begging to be bagged along the way and some epic descents are possible!

Mid-March to late April is the high season in the Rockies and the best time to complete this traverse.  Let our fun, and safety-oriented A.C.M.G. ski guides deliver the trip of a lifetime.
