Sunrise Lodge is one of the closest tenures to the world-famous Rogers Pass, home to some of the best backcountry touring in the Selkirks — minus the crowds! You can expect lots of alpine and treed lines here, with everything from gentle open slopes to steep pillow lines. The consensus among those who’ve spent time at all four Esplanade Range Huts though is that Sunrise is the best: best terrain, best for storm skiing, and best snowpack of the bunch!
We have booked the most prime week of the season to soak it all in
Sunrise Lodge is located at the headwaters of Wisted creek and offers stunning views of the Rockies to the West and the Purcells to the South.
The lodge is situated at 2134 meters (7000ft) as the southern gateway to the amazing Esplanade range. It is a spacious two stories and can accommodate 12 guests in 7 private rooms (dual occupancy) with additional bedrooms for staff. The bedrooms are fully outfitted with quality bedding including duvets. With limited cell coverage, it’s the perfect ratio of staying connected but not too connected.

They are confident on a black diamond runs in bounds but cliffs and steep chutes might not be their thing.
