AST 1
Do you venture out of bounds, off the trails, or into the backcountry? An AST 1 is your place to start. You don't need any experience to take this course, but it is a must for everyone recreating in the backcountry.
AST 2 LODGE-BASED
5 days with 4 full field days with ACMG Guide and Avalanche Canada Forecaster Zoe Ryan.
Take your backcountry education to the next level with our Lodge-based AST-2 at Mount Brennan Lodge, one of the most comfortable and equipped huts in the province, surrounded by the largest peaks in the Kootenays.
AST 2
This 4-day course is designed to give you the confidence and tools for a lifetime of immersive and rewarding backcountry travel. Building on what you learned in AST-1, you’ll develop higher-level decision-making skills to help you find the best snow while learning how to manage risk.
