Winter Basecamp Adventures and Custom Ski Trips

You dream it, we plan it. Simple.

Helicopter access basecamping is the perfect compromise for folks looking for an authentic remote backcountry experience without carrying large packs on long tours.

Winter Camping is not for everyone, but those who like it like it a lot. Many would think that trips like this are all about the mountains and powder. But the personal connection, friendships, and laughter are what ties it all together. Learn more by reading our 2022 Spring Basecamp Mountain Conditions Report here

When is the best time to organize a winter basecamp?

Our winter basecamp adventures are offered in the spring, providing us with longer days and after those frigid cold snaps.

Where ?

When you use mechanized access, the possibilities are endless. The Selkirk and Purcell Mountains around Nelson, BC, offer countless options. We also have guides that can bring you skiing around Revelstoke, Golden and Fernie. The location matters less than your dream trip. We’ll take you where you want to go, even if you don’t know where that is yet.

We typically start with a Zoom call to understand your goals, skills, and fitness level, then come back to you with suggestions.

How much does it cost ?

Well, it depends on where we’re going and how long we’ll be there. A helicopter typically charges around $2,000–$3,000 per hour.

Depending on the trip and the number of participants, we may also add a second guide, a tail guide, or a custodian.

Then, there are the usual additional costs to consider, such as food, gear rental if needed, transportation, insurance, and so on.

Long story short, it’s safe to say that most basecamp trips start at around $3,000 per person for 5 days: fly in and set up camp on Day 1, ski Days 2–4, then tear down camp and fly out on Day 5.
