White Grizzly Cat Skiing
White Grizzly Cat Skiing
White Grizzly is one of the longest-running snowcat skiing operations in BC, delivering authentic mountain experiences since 1998.
Our mountains are famous for Kootenay Coldsmoke and are the perfect playground for advanced-expert riders who like steep trees, fun features, and good times ripping it up with friends in the backcountry. Nestled in one of BC’s most reliable snow belts, we get an average of 11-15m (that’s 36-50 ft) of snow each season. At White Grizzly it’s all about the skiing. Our guests tell us we have the most interesting terrain of any cat ski lodge they’ve been to. Our expert guides and small groups provide a more intimate mountain experience.
About White Grizzly Cat Skiing Lodge
At White Grizzly, our terrain is what sets us apart. While many of our runs start above treeline (who doesn’t like some cruisy turns on a bluebird day) that’s not what we’re all about. There are plenty of places out there for all-day, blue-run, alpine skiing (like most other cat and heli lodges). What we find most interesting are the steeps, the chutes and the drops. Riding the trees, choosing terrain features to play on, and those cushy pillows of prime Kootenay Coldsmoke. It’s the freedom of finding your own lines but still within the safety of a guided experience.
Our private mountain playground is in the Goat Range of BC’s Selkirk Mountains, right in the middle of one of North America’s most consistent snow belts. The catskiing zone faces northeast, keeping it largely protected from the sun and wind and is well-supported for riding in nearly all conditions, Our upcoming ski touring program will access the rest of the mountain – a total of 11,000 skiable acres.
Our cat ski lodge is rustic luxury in the mountains of BC. Unwind with delicious aprês and a cold brew after a day on the slopes in the cozy open-fireplace lounge. The lodge sleeps just 12 guests and has a laidback vibe, passionate staff, and a great chef. It has a hot tub and wifi too, for sharing ski photos with your jealous buddies back home.
Our staff are passionate mountain people who love to work and play in The Kootenays. Being a smaller operation means more personal attention and a willingness to go above and beyond for our guests. All guiding staff are ACMG or CSGA-certified professional guides with years of experience working in the backcountry of BC. Safety is paramount, but right behind that is having fun, and our guides will find you the best lines every day out.
