Spring Basecamp April 2022

Basecamp 2022 That moment when the sky clears and the vistas are celebrated.

Between April 6th and 10th, we were fortunate to complete a five day and four-night helicopter access basecamp in the North Monashees with return Kootenay Backcountry Guests.

This was their second winter basecamp with us. Our trip took place in a remote valley in British Columbia that is not often visited. The remote nature and spectacular mountains made for one of a kind experience. Our journey started with a bluebird sky after a storm, giving us ideal conditions for the first two days. Then, on day three, we experienced a brief storm that left us 20cm of powder for the final two days of the trip.

Helicopter access basecamping is the perfect compromise for folks looking for an authentic remote backcountry experience without carrying large packs on long tours. Winter Camping is not for everyone, but those who like it like it a lot. Many would think that trips like this are all about the mountains and powder. But the personal connection, friendships, and laughter are what tie it all together.

Are you interested in exploring remote mountains on basecamp trips? What are you dreaming of for next winter and beyond? Give us the location/mountain range and we will take it from there. You book it, we plan it, it's that simple.
