Join two A.C.M.G. guides and a backcountry chef for a fully catered week of ski touring. Below is important information about our catered guided week at Snowfall Lodge. Inquire today!

About Snowfall Lodge

Snowfall Lodge sits west of the divide in a remote corner of the Selkirk Mountains. It is east of Revelstoke and just south of Glacier National Park and Rogers Pass. It is on the north flank of Battle Mountain and has lots of due north facing terrain that skis right down to the lodge.

The highest peaks in the area are over 2800m and are draped with eight separate glaciers. Several peaks offer ski lines right from the summit. There is a huge variety of terrain, from gentle alpine bowls to steep couloirs and pillow lines. Further down, you get into tree skiing, some of the best anywhere. Some runs are steep with pillows, and others are mellow. The forest has never been logged and is naturally widely spaced. A forest fire in 2017 created a large area of burn skiing north of the lodge.

As the name suggests, Snowfall gets a lot of snow. It is west of the divide in the Selkirks and gets a deep, reliable snowpack.

It is a bright, spacious three story building with much of the lumber milled on site. It is the perfect location for accessing tree skiing or higher alpine and glacier terrain. You can start the day by skiing right out the front door or end the day with a long run down to the lodge. The lodge is heated by a woodstove. It has a spacious boot room and a large stretching area. There is an indoor pee toilet.

There is a separate drying room that will get all your gear dry after a snowy soggy day skiing. It has a propane heater and extra electric power to heat the room. A rack for drying boots and gloves blows are into them. Best of all, the moist, smelly air is vented outside.

This trip will be 7-full days of unforgettable touring. Guided by two A.C.M.G guides, fully catered by a backcountry chef, with three delicious and nutritious meals provided each day, bring your best apres cocktails to enjoy in the evening sun.

The maximum group size is 16 of your best friends.

Snowfall Lodge Trip Details

Fitness & Skill Requirements
HAVING AN APPROPRIATE FITNESS LEVEL FOR THE TRIP OR COURSE YOU ARE JOINING IS A CRITICAL COMPONENT OF MOUNTAIN SAFETY.

Fitness Level: Flying Squirrel

  • Flying Squirrels have been ski touring at least ten times and are confident they can put in a 6.5-hour day of moving in the mountains. They can ski or splitboard 1000 vertical meters (3000ft) on back-to-back days and travel for 10km while following a track. They keep in shape and want a normal day of ski touring, hanging with friends, and having a good time.

Ski/Splitboarding Skills: Flying Squirrel

  • Flying Squirrels have ridden powder in bounds and out of bounds and have had a taste of what deep powder can be. Flying Squirrels can ride tree runs but enjoy open bowls more. They are confident on a black diamond runs in bounds but cliffs and steep chutes might not be their thing. Flying Squirrels are mostly looking for a good time with their squirrel friends and can join most of our courses and tours.
